Measured software
for the work that matters.

An independent software studio in New Orleans. We build the custom software your business actually runs on — internal tools, customer portals, mobile apps, and the workflows that long ago outgrew the spreadsheet.

Custom software,
built for your needs.

Business Applications.

The custom web application your business actually runs on — internal tools, customer portals, dashboards, the workflow that's currently a spreadsheet held together with macros. Built to last past the next reorg.

Mobile Apps.

Native and cross-platform apps for iOS and Android. Built like products, not features — with the same engineering care we'd give a flagship of our own, regardless of audience size.

Extended Reality.

AR, VR, and mixed-reality applications — for training, visualization, retail experiences, and the kind of work where a flat screen falls short. Quietly one of the most exciting things we do.

Nothing hidden.
No surprises at the end.

Good software starts with understanding the work it's meant to support, so we start there too.

  1. 01

    A real conversation.

You tell us what you're trying to build and why. We tell you, honestly, whether we're the right shop for it — sometimes the answer is no, and we'll say so.

  2. 02

    A scoped first piece.

We'd rather prove the relationship on something concrete than sell you a twelve-month roadmap on day one. Most engagements begin with a clear, bounded first project.

  3. 03

    Built in the open.

You see progress as it happens, not at a single nerve-wracking reveal. We work in small, reviewable steps.

  4. 04

    Built to be handed off.

The code is yours, documented and maintainable. We build software you could take elsewhere — that's how you know it's built right.

We don't only build for clients.
We build and run our own products.

It keeps our craft sharp and our judgment honest — we feel every decision we'd otherwise only recommend. Two are in active pilots right now:

IEP Assist

An AI drafting assistant helping special-education teachers get from blank page to a strong first draft.

Project Touchline

The operations layer for grassroots soccer clubs run by a tiny crew.

About the studio.

Christopher Matthews started Swampy South Labs in New Orleans to do a particular kind of work: build software carefully, for people who'll actually depend on it.

He brings eight years of building enterprise software and XR platforms to the work — leading delivery at a Fortune 500 technology company, shipping production apps across mobile, web, and immersive platforms.
